The Industry gathered in style this year for one of its most anticipated events - the COLORSTEEL® Awards 2025. Held at the Auckland Viaduct Events Centre, the awards evening brought together roofers, rollformers, architects, designers, builders and associated suppliers to recognise the very best projects and craftsmanship in the industry using COLORSTEEL®.
More than just a night of celebration, the COLORSTEEL® Awards have become a respected benchmark for quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Taking home an award is a proud career moment, true recognition of the skill and workmanship behind every project.
With close to 200 entries, the 2025 COLORSTEEL® Awards judging panel saw a high calibre of workmanship, making the judging process extremely difficult. Winners are announced below, see all the finalists and highly commended recipients here.
2025 COLORSTEEL® Supreme Roofer of the Year
Argie Manuel
The COLORSTEEL® Supreme Roofer of the Year acknowledges roofers' significant contribution to our industry, selected from the winners of the three separate Roofer of the Year categories - Corrugate, Trapezoidal and Tray profiles.
Through ongoing collaboration with the architect, Argie successfully delivered the desired aesthetic while applying a high level of technical expertise to produce a seamless, clean finish. Matt McDougall, COLORSTEEL® Awards judge and past Supreme Roofer, described Argie’s workmanship as “second to none” and praised his outstanding attention to detail.

Matt Williams
Matt Williams represents the future of the roofing industry. After starting his roofing career in 2021, following a carpentry apprenticeship, he has quickly established himself as a highly skilled, reliable, and widely respected lead roofer. Known for his exceptional craftsmanship, Matt consistently delivers flawless work on some of the most complex roofing details, from stacked roof windows to intricate seamed flashings.
Matt’s dedication, integrity, and natural leadership have not only made him an invaluable member of the Tasman Roofing team, but also a standout emerging talent in New Zealand’s roofing community. Congratulations to Matt Williams, our 2025 COLORSTEEL New Roofer of the Year.

Max Brough
Max Brough is a Taranaki-based trade-business leader and industry champion who co-created and coordinated New Zealand’s Roofing Games, a nationwide training and competition series that raised installation standards and promoted best practice across the metal roofing sector. As a business owner, industry organiser and local civic leader, Max has been instrumental in creating pathways for roofers to upskill, compete and gain national recognition for workmanship excellence.
Max’s vision, leadership, and commitment to elevating industry standards have made him an invaluable advocate for roofers nationwide and a driving force behind New Zealand’s roofing community. Congratulations to Max Brough, the 2025 COLORSTEEL® Service to Roofing Winner.
