COLORSTEEL® AWARDS ENTRANTS
The Entrants in the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards shall be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Entries
Entries must be received by the stated closing date for competition entries to be considered for judging. Entry details can be obtained here.
Categories
This year the categories are:
- COLORSTEEL® Roofer of the Year
- Category A – Tray Profiles
- Category B – Trapezoidal Profiles
- Category C – Corrugate Profiles
- Supreme Roofer of the Year
- COLORSTEEL® New Roofer of the Year
- COLORSTEEL® Residential Building of the Year
- COLORSTEEL® Commercial Building of the Year
- COLORSTEEL® Lifestyle Building of the Year
- Service to Roofing Award
Entry Requirements
- Entrants who provide incorrect, misleading or fraudulent information, or otherwise submit an Entry that does not comply with the entry requirements of the applicable category, are ineligible to participate in the promotion. All Entries of an Entrant that is deemed by the Promoter to have provided incorrect, misleading or fraudulent information, or which do not comply with the applicable entry requirements, may, at the discretion of the Promoter, be deemed invalid.
- Incomplete Entries will not be accepted. Entries become final on completion of scrutineering and verification by the committee team.
- All Entrants must live and work in New Zealand at the time of submitting an Entry and at the time of the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards.
- By entering the promotion, each Entrant (including category winners) grants to the Promoter a royalty-free, transferable and unconditional right and entitlement to use that Entrant’s Entry for the purposes of marketing and promoting the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards. This may be in any manner and in any media, whether existing now or in the future, without the further consent of the Entrant and without any further compensation payable to the Entrant. The use of any data supplied will be in line with our privacy policy.
- As a condition of entering this promotion, each Entrant consents to the Promoter and its external media partners using the Entrant's Entry, name, locality, likeness, image and/or voice in any media worldwide for an unlimited period of time without further notification, remuneration or compensation for the purpose of promoting, publicising or marketing the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards (including any outcome), and/or promoting any products or services manufactured, distributed or supplied by the Promoter.
- All Entrants agree to the Promoter contracting a professional photographer for media, promotional, advertising, event and publication purposes.
- The Entrant agrees that, in the event they are a winner of any category, the Entrant will participate in all reasonable promotional activities in relation to the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards as requested by the Promoter and its agents and sign any additional documents reasonably required by the Promoter to give effect to this condition.
- The directors, management, employees and employee family members of the Promoter, its related entities, suppliers, providers and agencies who are directly associated with the conduct of this promotion are ineligible to enter the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards.
- By entering, the Entrants warrant and represent to the Promoter that:
- The content submitted in their Entry is their own or is the work of an Entrant’s employees or contractors.
- They have all authority, authorisation and permission necessary to submit the Entry.
- Their Entry does not violate the privacy rights, copyright, contract rights or other rights (including but not limited to any intellectual property rights) of any person, corporation or entity.
- Their Entry does not contain content that is illegal, contrary to any laws or regulations, indecent, obscene, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, in breach of any confidence, defamatory, offensive or objectionable.
- Entrants who are not the property owner must obtain the consent for entry and photo submission from the property owner. This applies to all Entrants, regardless of which category they have applied for.
How to Enter
For all Categories
- To enter the promotion, Entrants must, during the promotional period:
- Visit www.colorsteel/awards.co.nz and fully and correctly complete the entry form in the manner required.
- Clearly identify the COLORSTEEL® products used in the project.
- Only enter projects that are completed within the specified timeframe (1 April 2025 – 30 June 2027).
- Entrants must not re-enter a project previously entered in prior COLORSTEEL® Awards promotions.
Copyright
- All Entries must be the Entrant's original work or must be the work of an employee or independent contractor of that Entrant.
- The Promoter reserves the right to verify, and/or to require the Entrant to verify, that their Entry is the Entrant's original work. If an Entry cannot be verified to the COLORSTEEL® Awards Committee’s satisfaction, the Entry will be deemed invalid and the Entrant ineligible to participate in the Promotion.
Judging
- All eligible Entries received throughout the Promotional Period will be judged by a panel of appropriately qualified judges. Judging will take place in the period up to 1 October 2027.
- The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Judges have the right to disqualify Entries in their sole and absolute discretion.
- Entrants, Property Owners and/or any other member of the Project Team shall not contact judges for direct feedback on the judging process or results. Failure to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of entry could result in disqualification from the competition or submitting future Entries. The Promoter has the final discretion in any prize winner.
Winner Notification
- The winners will be publicly announced at the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards night.
Publication
- All winning Entries will be published on www.colorsteel.co.nz, as well as alternative forms of media that will be disclosed at a later date.

Prize Conditions
- Winners are entitled to use the COLORSTEEL® Awards endorsement in their marketing and promotional material.
- Entrants may not use or endorse the COLORSTEEL® Awards brand and/or word type in association with a competitor product/company.
- A prize cannot be sold, scalped, auctioned, raffled, pledged or promoted as an incentive or reward by any third party as an inducement for any person or other entity to enter into any commercial or other arrangements with that third party. If a prize is obtained through any of these methods, it will not be honoured by the Promoter or prize supplier.
General
- The Promoter can review and make changes to the categories as deemed necessary for the benefit of the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards. These changes would be communicated prior to the final entry date.
- Any grievances or complaints must be submitted in the first instance in writing to the Promoter, who will review, comment and resolve.
- Any Entrant failing to comply with these Terms and Conditions, or who is behaving in a manner deemed unprofessional by the Promoter, may be disqualified from the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards.
- The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, or issue binding rulings on any matter not included in these Terms and Conditions. Such decisions shall be final.
- If the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards is not capable of running as planned for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards and/or, if necessary, provide alternative prize(s) to the same value as the original prize(s).
- The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies exclude all liability (including in contract, tort, equity, for misrepresentation or otherwise, and however such liability arises or may arise) except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, for any direct or indirect injury, loss and/or damage arising in any way out of the 2027 COLORSTEEL® Awards.This includes, but is not limited to:
- Technical malfunctions, delays or failures, including those resulting from accessing any materials related to this promotion and any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of, or in connection with, this promotion as a result of any technical malfunctions, delays or failures.
- Theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference.
- Lost or damaged Entries, prize claims or prize(s).
- Acceptance and/or use of any prize.
