The first step to ensuring you’re covered by the most robust warranties possible involves choosing the right product for your building environment.

Then you need to be sure your builder has used ‘industry standard’ methods to erect your roof or structure – any shortcuts or missed steps could invalidate your warranty.

Maintaining your investment

Once you’ve picked the ideal materials and had them installed correctly, it becomes a case of maintenance. Fortunately, looking after COLORSTEEL® is pretty simple, especially compared to some building products.

That’s because Mother Nature will do a lot of the work for you. In most instances rainwater is enough to keep your roof clean – although this will depend on a number of things, including the environment you’re in, your proximity to the coast, and the product you’ve selected.

Wall cladding, fascia, gutters and downpipes normally require a little more hands-on maintenance. Consult the Environmental Categories Guide for more information on specific products.

To ensure you’re covered, ask your builder or roofer for your Certificate of Authenticity upon completion of your project – it’s proof you’ve purchased the ‘real thing’, and that you’re protected by a robust and extensive warranty system.
